JOB TITLE: Journeyman Instrument and Control Technician Pool DEPARTMENT: Production Administration LOCATION: Hawthorn (Kansas City, MO), Iatan (Weston, MO), LaCygne (LaCygne, KS). Lake Road (St. Joseph, MO) PAY RANGE: $50.39 per hour POSTING DATES: This posting does not expire, and remains open and valid. This is an on-going opportunity to test in your craft. Scheduled Work Hours: Varies, Shift Work Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Inspect, analyze, repair, test, clean and calibrate complex electrical and mechanical systems. Install and maintain all types of instruments and controls. * Ability to utilize all types of test equipment to diagnose electronic and mechanical equipment performance. * Assist on performance and acceptance tests on new and existing equipment. May perform some duties of a Journeyman Electrician if appropriate. * Performs similar and related work consistent with the general nature of this job classification. Education and Experience Requirements: This position requires a minimum five years experience maintaining an electrical generation facility or other heavy industrial facility, preferably in a process industry, or a similar military experience, with a background of a minimum three years as a Journeyman Technician. Successful completion of a certified I&C Technician apprenticeship, OR equivalent training is required and must be documented and sent in with your application. Note: Only experienced industrial I&C Technicians are eligible for consideration. Commercial experience does not meet the experience requirements. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required: Successful applicants must have training and experience working and maintaining complex control systems involving electronic, pneumatic and mechanical devices. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in both analog and digital controls, microprocessors, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and other instrumentation and process control systems. Special Requirements: Documentation to show proof of training in the above areas must be sent in with your submission (see below). A valid drivers license is required. A high school education or GED is required. Progressive WRITTEN and PRACTICAL (hands on) testing will be administered and requires an acceptable score (progressive testing means you must reach an acceptable score on one section in order to proceed to the next).
