Position Summary: The Tower Team of Mercury Broadband builds and services all of Mercury's tower sites. Tower maintenance technicians should be mindful and thorough in their work; following installation and safety guidelines, and instructions from the Tower leadership team.Location: Topeka, KSPosition Type: Full-TimeCompensation: Competitive PayBenefits: Health, Vision, Basic Dental & Life Insurance, STD, LTD, 401k, Paid Time Off, Paid Training, No Travel Required, Ability to advance within the company Key Responsibilities:Ability to learn and understand the use of safety gear while working at heights up to 300ft.Installation of broadband equipment at Mercury tower premises Represent the company in a professional mannerAssist with new tower site constructionTroubleshoot broadband tower equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve network outages Skills and Requirements:Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, towers (up to 300'), and elevated locations Basic mechanical skillsKnowledge of and ability to operate basic hand and power toolsFollow cabling procedures for wiring towersClean driving record and valid driver's licenseSelf-Motivated 1+ years telecommunication experience (preferred) Physical Requirements:Ability to climb with up to a 30 lb. load and work at elevated heights up to 500', with most of the work performed at 300' or less; must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedlyAbility to stand continuously, reach frequently, & bend at waist and knees frequentlyRequires working outdoors in all types of weatherAbility to stoop, crawl, squat and lift 50 lbs.; and be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead occasionallyRequires good finger and hand dexterity to utilize various hand tools in a repetitive manner Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Mercury Broadband is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
