The city was recognized with the All-America City Award, given to communities with citizens who work together to pinpoint and address community-wide challenges and achieve exceptional results.As an Animal Behavior Scientist, you'll be responsible for performing the necessary work related to the applied pet behavior programs and feline socialization program under general supervision.Primary ResponsibilitiesIndirectly supervise PetCare facility staff performing activities related to behavior programs and researchDevelop and implement pet socialization, training, and enrichment programsPerform pet behavior assessments and develop corrective actions as requiredConduct research aimed at improving our understanding of pet behavior and pet welfarePrepare written reports/presentationsSource, evaluate and integrate new technologies and methods aimed at improving pet welfareCollaborate with PetCare team to optimize pet welfare. Required activities include, but are not limited to:Train Petcare team on animal behavior, welfare issues, pet interaction, and enrichmentDevelop pet behavior modification programs and work with PetCare team on their implementationFollow up on implementation of behavior modification reports/recommendations, validating outcome of the recommendationsEvaluate Petcare employees' pet interaction proficiency and provide coaching and training as neededKnowledge of, and compliance with, the Animal Welfare Act and all procedures and protocols in the Nestl-- Purina PTC PetCare ManualPractice safety in the work area maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary work environmentTravel as necessaryBasic RequirementsMaster's degree in Animal Behavior, Animal Science, Psychology or related fields OR a bachelor's degree with 3+ years' experience with applied behavior modification, research techniques, use of statistical analysis, and experimental design experienceDemonstrated ability to work directly with animalsPreferredDemonstrated ability to work directly with cats and/or dogs is preferredRequisition ID189505It is our business imperative to remain a very inclusive workplace.To our veterans and separated service members, you're at the forefront of our minds as we recruit top talent to join Nestl--.
