This is a multi-level posting. Candidates will be hired in at the level based on education, experience and business need.

Provides assistance in the initiation and to completion of biological processes for projects in an efficient manner.  Provides assistance in development of media and process(es), optimization of process(es), confirmation of process(es), validation and manufacturing of qualifying and pre-licensing serials.  Treats reports and data with a high level of integrity, ethics and attention to detail.

Duties & Responsibilities\:

  • Assist in writing protocols, conduct experiments and generation of reports for studies and treats all data with a high level of accuracy, integrity and ethics.
  • Assist in the development, optimization, scale up and transfer of new media and biological processes from Technology Shift to Manufacturing units. 
  • Assist in setting up, qualification and operation of new equipment.  Assist in maintaining equipment and insuring equipment is kept in operational status. Assists in evaluating new, innovative equipment, sensors and other bioprocess-related instrumentation for use in development or routine manufacturing.

 

Scientist I - Requirements\:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Biology, Microbiology, Chemisty, Biochemisty, Engineering)
  • Laboratory and/or Production facility experience preferred
  • In addition to bachelor's degree, must have at least one (1) year of relevant scientific academic or industry experience
  • Laboratory and/or Production facility experience preferred
  • Intense willingness to develop technical expertise at bench and production scale
  • Ability to communicate in English required – additional language skills are an asset
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • Strong interest for international/intercultural collaboration
  • Ability to adapt communications and truly engage with diverse audience
  • Working knowledge and basic theoretical understanding of scientific principles (e.g. microbiology, biological chemistry, biochemistry)
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical quality
  • Comprehension of Good Laboratory or Manufacturing Practice (GLP/GMP)and other applicable regulations
  • Written and verbal communications of technical information

Scientist II - Requirements\:

  • Masters degree from an accredited institution in scientific discipline (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological sciences preferred) with a minimum of one (1) year direct industry experience; Or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in scientific discipline (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological sciences preferred) with a minimum of three (3) years of direct industry experience
  • Expertise in novel technologies or sciences is an advantage
  • Working knowledge and basic theoretical understanding of scientific principles (e.g. microbiology, biological chemistry, biochemistry)
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment, product formulation and analytical testing methodologies of pharmaceutical or biological products
  • Comprehension of Pharmaceutical Quality System within BIAH
  • Comprehension of Good Laboratory and Manufacturing Practice (GLP/GMP) regulations and other applicable regulations
  • Written and verbal communications of technical information
  • Basic knowledge of new product development & product lifecycle management processes
  • Intense willingness to develop technical expertise at bench and production scale
  • Strong interest for international/intercultural collaboration
  • Ability to adapt communications and truly engage with diverse audience
  • Ability to communicate in English required – additional language skills are an asset
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Eligibility Requirements\:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
