PRIMARY DUTY:nbsp;This is a highly collaborative and service-oriented position to support programs and services promoting the admissions and student success unit. The secretary position performs duties requiring exceptional interpersonal and technical skills while working in a fast-paced environment. The individual in this role will apply his/her communication, organization, and critical thinking skills to provide a calm and confident presence for students, families, and faculty/staff. nbsp;

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Serve as a point of contact for the Student Success Center and Financial Assistance offices and provide exceptional customer services to students, families, and faculty/staff; assist in other Admissions and Student Success areas, as needed2. Complete periodic reports, budget/financial forms, and spreadsheets, including direct pay vouchers, travel vouchers, purchase requisitions, etc.3. Maintain confidential records and files essential to department operations4. Oversee office environment to anticipate resource requirements and management5. Assist with organizing and scheduling department eventsnbsp;6. Manage multiple tasks/projects for the various programs and prioritize projects to meet deadlines7. Assist with updates of department policies and proceduresnbsp;8. Hire, train and supervise student employees as well as monitor student staff schedules to approve student employee web-time entry to meet payroll deadlines9. Maintain inventory of office suppliesnbsp;10. Make appointments for staff in the units11. Use problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills to cultivate and maintain positive relationships across various campus programs/units12. Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;Education: High school diplomanbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;Experience: Computer experience in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with scheduling and data management
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;Skills: Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, families, and faculty/staff. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and familiarity with various forms of technology. Easily learns new computer applications and processes. Pays close attention to detail and has the ability to adapt to changing work responsibilities. Collaborative team member who can manage multiple situational roles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;Education: Bachelors degree in any field
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;Experience: At least one year of fast-paced customer service experience; prior supervisory experience, including scheduling, data management, and problem-solving complex situations. nbsp;nbsp;
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Software system, Banner Student Information System, and familiarity with various forms of technology, including social media and website updates.

WORKING CONDITIONS:nbsp;This position works in an air-conditioned office from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break, with occasional evening and weekend hours required. nbsp;
