This position is responsible for the design, development, and
verification of mechanical components including complex
machined-metal parts, sheet metal assemblies and subsystem

designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents
and functional designs. Uses advanced knowledge in thermal analysis
and structural analysis to provide reliable, robust designs in the
military aerospace market. Hands on development includes
prototyping, testing, and analysis validation. Must work well in a
team setting, have good presentation skills, and be comfortable
explaining designs and methodologies to customers.
Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided
design (CAD) into working documents, 3D prototypes, test models,
and eventually innovative products.

designs coupled with a sense of urgency to satisfy the

Responsible for layout and documentation creation, able to
review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to
established specifications and standards.
Understands military design criteria for naval, air, land
applications. Knows basic information regarding MIL-STD-810

procedures within designing electronics in rugged environments.
Understands instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform
the functions of the job while helping to grow the current
Displays an extensive understanding of AutoCAD Inventor and 3D
modeling and has a strong background with metal parts machining,
fabrication, and assembly processes. Responsible for converting
created CAD designs into drawings for production and supplier
Schooled and capable in packaging high performance electronics
in harsh and demanding environments.
Additional responsibilities include investigating and resolving
manufacturing problems, conducting vibration, thermal, humidity,
and thermal shock testing on Crystal Group products.
Must have an innate curiosity for technology, work well under
pressure, and thrive on satisfying customers.
Conforms to ESD and safety guidelines.
Education: BSME or degree in Aerospace Engineering, Masters
Experience: Seven to fifteen years related experience.
Physical: Must be able to visually focus on and scrutinize
drawings, cad models, FEA results, test data, and computer layout
work. Inventor preferred however all candidates fluent in
mainstream CAD will be considered.
