SummaryTHESE ARE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITIONS.These are National Guard positions are for TWO GS-0083-06 POLICE OFFICER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2155000 in FAC 43CS00 and is part of the MO 139th Airlift Wing.APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This position is a Temporary vacancy NTE One Year in the Excepted Service. This is a bargaining unit position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BELOW. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Performs and enforces the full range of security forces duties within a military installation. Apprehends and detains violators of laws, rules, and regulations and turns them over to the Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers for arrest and/or posting of collateral. Serves at fixed posts or patrols the installation on foot or in vehicles; responds to alarms, irregularities, and unusual or suspicious circumstances. Responds to calls for emergency assistance to include active shooter, suspicious persons, catastrophic events, scenes of crimes/natural disasters and enemy attacks, and makes apprehensions. Acts as the on-scene commander for significant and catastrophic events. Performs traffic duty to include directing traffic and escorting dignitaries. Enforces pertinent administrative rules and regulations governing traffic control, parking, building, or other facility access, and breaches in physical security controls (locks, fences, gates, or other barriers). When enforcing rules and regulations established to accomplish the protective missions, security forces personnel control the movement of persons and protect lives and personal property in and around the identified Federal property. Serves as a Security Forces Dispatcher for the installation. Dispatches personnel and equipment to meet emergency situations. Uses computerized information systems to direct patrols, record daily blotter information, and retrieve information through the FBI?s National Crime Information Center System. Interviews witnesses and suspects to obtain and verify information and advises suspects of their rights. Performs the full range of Base Entry Controller and commercial vehicle inspection duties. Performs over-watch duties as required by force protection conditions. Performs the full range of duties for defending protection level resources (Patrol, Security Response Team (I-SRT and E-SRT). Defends installation personnel, equipment, and resources from hostile ground attack. Assesses the origin and cause of intrusion detection system (IDS) alarms in the area and makes required notifications. Performs other duties as assigned. These positions can be filled up to four years as long as funds are available to support it. In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the temporary appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. QualificationsMILITARY REQUIREMENTS: EnlistedSince the position is temporary in nature, the compatibility requirements will be waived for a period of time not to exceed one year. Selecting official must verify that selected individual is currently assigned to a military unit in the Missouri National Guard and that the selection does not create grade inversion.Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion).GENERAL EXPERIENCE: As a National Guard Title 32 Dual Status applicant, must possess a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade of this position.GS-06 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess knowledge of practical security force (SF) activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; or area security operations; work experiences in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of civilian/public areas or military installations; protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction; and responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies.EducationFor entry into the authorized specialty code, completion of high school or General Equivalency Diploma is mandatory.
