A registered nurse with acute care expertise is needed to fill a critical role in a progressive care unit (PCU) in Overland Park, KS. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a 300-bed acute care hospital known for delivering excellent patient care with a focus on advanced medical practices. Responsibilities include providing high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients, managing complex clinical situations independently, and floating across various inpatient units such as ICU, medical-surgical, telemetry, and emergency department as needed. The role requires strong capabilities in critical care interventions, including handling continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), managing bipap devices, drawing labs, caring for chest tubes, and handling PICC lines without vascular access team support. The nurse must be comfortable responding to codes and consulting independently.
