Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Kansas City,
Missouri, 64154! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours
per Shift: 12 Experience: 3 years in Labor and Delivery License:
Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP;
AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate preferred Must-Have: 3 years of
experience in Labor and Delivery. Community hospital experience
preferred. No first-time travelers accepted. Ability to work
weekends and holidays as required. Mandatory on-call shifts (2 per
6-week schedule). Experience with full couplet care. Description:
The Registered Nurse will provide care in Labor and Delivery,
Recovery, and Postpartum settings. The nurse will manage a patient
ratio of 1:1 to 1:3. The role includes performing assessments and
providing interventions for patients during labor and delivery.
Responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating maternal and
fetal well-being, administering medications, and supporting
breastfeeding. Experience in antepartum, postpartum, and newborn
care is essential. Skills in labor management, including assistance
with vaginal deliveries and circulatory duties for cesarean
sections, are required. The position includes triaging obstetrical
patients and conducting non-stress tests. Nursing duties also
involve postpartum care, including assessment of the fundus and
lochia, wound care, and education for new parents. The nurse will
assist in neonatal care, such as performing APGAR assessments and
providing thermoregulation support. Knowledge of medication
administration, including antihypertensives and magnesium sulfate
therapy, is necessary. The role involves adherence to infection
control procedures and patient safety protocols. Fetal monitoring
and recognition of abnormal patterns are critical components of
this position. A commitment to ongoing professional development and
