ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Overland Park, Kansas. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • Work in an 18-bed Progressive Care Unit with 1:4-5 patient ratios • Self-scheduling system with requirement to work 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule • No on-call requirements • Care for patients with moderate physiologic instability including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients • Monitor hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac and respiratory monitoring every 2-4 hours • Perform vital signs every 4 hours with continuous cardiac monitoring • Conduct blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours and neurological monitoring as needed • Provide oxygen therapy including nasal cannula, BIPAP/CPAP up to 80%, and AirVo Low Flow • Work with Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pumps, Pyxis systems, and computers in every room • Document using Meditech system • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH • Royal blue uniform dress code required • Unit staffed with 2 PCTs and 1 unit secretary for support • Floating policy applies based on traveler status and last float date Facility: This healthcare facility features a specialized Progressive Care Unit that provides an intermediate level of care between ICU and medical-surgical units.
