The Float Pool RN will work across multiple units, providing nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, diverse setting. The Float Pool Registered Nurse will be expected to quickly integrate into different teams and provide the highest standard of care for patients.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a variety of Med/Surg units.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on nursing protocols, standards of care, and evidence-based practices.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed orders and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, and report changes to the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by adjusting to different patient populations, unit workflows, and staffing needs.
  • Uphold Providence's core values of compassion, justice, excellence, and integrity in all interactions.QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
    • Current and valid state RN License.
    • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
    • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
    • Current PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
    • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
    • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required.
    • Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
    • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Facility Specific Requirements (facility May Require Items Listed Below)
      • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
      • EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
      • Non OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
