Description: Description\: The Site Veterinarian will provide critical clinical veterinary support and technical leadership to the animal testing, animal care, and research teams. - Primary responsibility will be to provide excellent medical and surgical care to multiple species of animals housed at the facilities and regulatory compliance at the biomedical research facilities at the Cosby, MO location. -As a technical leader and veterinarian it is expected that the veterinarian provides "can do" approaches and insights that result in a competitive advantage in assessing biological activity of our vaccines and pharmaceuticals, and in rapid experimental progress in new product research and development. - The Site Veterinarian will also design, implement, and monitor animal health programs and support overall facility compliance with all regulatory guidelines. The Site Veterinarian may be responsible for direct leadership of up to six team members.   • Provide state of the art veterinary medical, surgical and management knowledge and skills to all animals at the site. The Site Veterinarian will maintain the necessary equipment, supplies, biologicals, and pharmaceuticals to ensure animal health and wellbeing.
  • Write accurate, factual, and complete investigation reports that comply with GxP standards as appropriate and meet regulatory expectations. Reports will be used to support product release testing and research and development investigations
  • Lead the design, creation and implementation of an animal health monitoring system. Monitoring the health of animal populations is critical to providing the accurate assessment of study outcomes.
  • Design and implement training programs concerning the maintenance of healthy animal populations, technical animal manipulations, and general biosecurity and bioexclusion. Requirements\:
    • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school with licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.
    • Possess or ability to acquire licensure to practice medicine in the state of Missouri
    • Ability to acquire a veterinary DEA license
    • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical veterinary experience.
    • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a research-related environment or an advanced degree in research preferred.
    • Experience working in highly regulated environment (USDA, FDA, etc.) preferred.
    • Experience in bovine medicine and lab animal experience -preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
    • Will possess or have the ability to develop a thorough understanding of a wide range of biologics and pharmaceuticals produced by BIAH, how they are used in the host animal, and testing related to their release and development in a spectrum of animal species. Eligibility Requirements\:
